3-6-13 is the day of ending the R-word. This means that we speak out and tell the community to stop using that word. We want it out of their minds and for them to start using the word “RESPECT”. We all need to respect all people around us. I challenge everyone to please sign the pledge to end the R-word and spread that to everyone.
My experience with that word is when I heard that word at McDonalds from one of my co-workers. I talked about it with my boss. Then my co-worker came to me and said that she was sorry for saying that and she did not mean anything by it. Right then I knew that she understands my feelings. It makes me feel hurt when people use that word and it labels us in the wrong way. We want people to know that it can hurt people’s feelings and they can offend people so they should watch what they say. Some people say, “sticks and stones may break my bones but words
may never hurt me,” but that is wrong; words DO hurt other people. Please join me and my friends and help SPREAD THE WORD TO END THE WORD! Join us for a rally at the Santa Barbara Court House Sunken Gardens tomorrow, Wednesday, March 6th from 12:00 – 1:00 pm.
